We're seeking to add to our team a Retail Store Assistant/General Admin – for the right person we can offer casual, part-time or full-time status - whichever suits the right applicant but ideally applicant needs to be flexible with increased hours over our peak seasons and to cover staff annual leave and be available every 2^nd Saturday.   

The Role:  The successful applicant would ideally have a background in the retail industry, have excellent administration/computer skills, flair for marketing would be advantageous, ability to learn fine detail of products, a love for customer service and willingness to learn. A passion for Camping, Fishing and the outdoors is a must:

• Give exceptional customer service - you need to be a people person
• Answering & assisting with product inquiries
• Maintain broad and in-depth knowledge of products in our camping, fishing, hunting and pool shop departments - this is a must, it is very complex range of products so you need to have good skills in learning and retaining information.
• Taking and processing sales orders including online orders
• Receiving stock, replenishing, merchandising and stock control
• General office administrative duties and assisting Manager with creating marketing and social media material
• Position will lead to taking on more roles and advance to a senior position to open and close the store

Key Skills and Attributes: Applicants with these skills will only be considered for the job:

• Previous retail experience or the enthusiasm and drive to learn
• Competent computer skills a must in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Internet, training will be given to use our POS system, Shopify and Canva
• Weekend availability a must (every 2nd Saturday morning shift) and flexibility to take on more shifts during peak sales and when other staff are on annual leave
• Strong organizational and time management skills, MUST have a neat and tidy work ethic
• Ability to use own initiative and encouraged to be creative with merchandising to business standards and policies
• Ability to work unsupervised, multi task & work under pressure 
• Must be honest, reliable, energetic and have happy and positive outlook on life
• Willing to absorb and learn everything about our product range to give our customers the best product knowledge.  Our product range is huge and technical - so you must be able to take on and retain product knowledge.  Good mathematics and ability to learn pool chemistry is a must.

Remuneration is in line with the ARL (QLD) Enterprise Agreement, wage will start at Retail Store Assistant level and will progress to a higher level if key skills and attributes are proven.  Staff have the advantage of our exclusive staff discounts on products across the entire range allowing you to work and play! Hours of work are on a roster from Monday to Friday, and alternating Saturday and a 3 day weekend off on the alternate weekend. This is the ideal position if you are interested in the camping, fishing and travel industry and its related products.
